Event Details

The next few years will be extremely challenging for local government. Cuts to public spending will have a direct impact on local services and the people who rely on them. Providing services in new and better ways will be critical to meeting this challenge. We invite you to discuss our proposed new model for nurturing the development of small local teams to tackle the big challenges we face.

Innovation led by local authorities and frontline staff is vital to provide better public services at a lower cost. With support from NESTA, the Local Government Information Unit have sought out examples of innovation in non-statutory services – led by small teams with small budgets – that are making a decisive difference to their local area.

Please join us on Wednesday 28th July to hear more about this work. We will hear from the report’s author Glyn Gaskarth from the LGIU and Jennifer House from Rochford District Council who will share her experiences being involved in one of the projects.

Registration and lunch starting at 12.15. Presentations starting at 1pm prompt.
